Fall Capsule Wardrobe

Hey y'all! How was everyone's week? Is everybody ready for the weekend? I have a pretty exciting Friday planned and have a bunch of blog work I am getting done this weekend. I love when I get things done because it makes me feel like I got things accomplished! I have a ton of new projects that are coming y'alls week in the next couple of weeks so stayed tuned for that. But in the mean time lets talk about Fall capsule wardrobe!

In case you don't know the term "capsule wardrobe," it is basically a simplified wardrobe of a minimal number of items that you can mix and match to create tons of outfits. So with that being said, all of these items are pretty classic pieces in neutral colors with minimal patterns, but feel free to add your own style into it. Adding in a few items in with a simple pattern, like stripes, really give it a lot of variety!

TOPS

I am a forever lover of tops and seem to buy in excess because i feel like I never have enough. The key is having different layers so you can mix and match. I am a huge fan of basic shirts and always find myself going straight to them. A basic short-sleeved tee in a classic cut and a long sleeve striped tee will allow you to layer underneath tops and outwear.

You can wear a knit sweater and flannel by themselves or can be layered and mix and matched with all of the bottoms in the capsule. Flannels are my absolute favorite thing to wear and you may even say that I am a little obsessed with them! As far as outerwear goes, you can never go wrong with a knit cardigan but it is important to have those essential jackets and coats like a trench coat, leather jacket, wool coat, and utility jacket.

BOTTOMS AND DRESSES

The four essential bottoms to have in your closet this Fall are a pair of denim jeans (what I wear the most!), a pair of black denim jeans, joggers, and faux leather leggings. With these four you can create tons of outfits, whether causal or dressed up. All four of these will go with any of the tops and outerwear in the capsule. I always suggest going with one ripped and one non-ripped pair of jeans, whether black or blue!

The one dress that I feel like is always perfect every Fall is a black midi dress or a sweater dress. They are always so affordable as well as comfortable and flattering.

SHOES

Booties are always my go to shoe throughout the Fall, so they are always a definite must have in my Fall capsule wardrobe. They truly going with everything from jeans to dresses and if you pick a neutral booties, they can be mixed and matched with everything in your closet. These are my favorite pair of booties right now!

Sneakers and loafers are the other two types of shoes that you have to have in your closet this Fall. Whether you want a pair of comfy shoes to wear for the weekend or need a flat to wear to work or to dress it up a bit, you are for sure covered with these two. I am a huge fan of Nike and these Nike's are in my shopping cart as we speak. I love the white shoe with the pattern underneath the logo. I don't personally own loafers but I have so many friends that do and they love them! I am always so excited to see how they dress them up whether for work or just dressing up a normal outfit.

ACCESSORIES

Every girl needs a good neutral, high quality tote but what people don't understand is that you don't have to break the bank. I love to get bags like this from Target especially this one! In my experience they are good bags and come in so many different shapes, sizes, and colors. Purses this big are always my friend because that means I can carry my laptop with me or my notebooks without having to carry another bag.

A neutral scarf is always a must when creating your Fall capsule wardrobe because they allow you to add just a little extra something while also having a layering piece. I love this one with the geometric patterns and the colors are really just so perfect, especially for the Fall. And it's under $30! A floppy hat is also a must for me even though I have a big head. So for me I have to do a little bit more research into hats before I go and buy one but I love a good floppy hat because it even lets you get away with having a bad hair day! Well that and it makes your outfit look really stylish!

What are your thoughts on capsule wardrobe? As always thank y'all for stopping by and reading and I will se y'all back here next time!

Love, D
