October 2019 Reading List

Hey y'all! I am so sorry I have been behind on blogging and vlogging lately. There has been so much going on and I will be sharing a complete life update with y'all later in the week because I have been getting so many questions from y'all. I can't believe that October is over and that we are already into November. Like time is flying back so FAST! It is almost Thanksgiving and then it will soon be Christmas which is even crazier!

Since it is the end of October, it is time to share my October Reading List. I have been really into reading recently and find it is my quiet time during the day and helps me decompress at night before I go to bed. Is anyone else like this? I have also been doing a lot of re-reading books that I haven't read in a long time or books that I just can't get enough of that I have to re-read. So along with new books that I have read this month, there is also books that I have re-read and love.

If y'all have any books that I should read, please send them into me because I am always on the hunt for new books to read!

~KILL SHOW BY: VINCE FLYNN | In the year since the CIA trained and then unleashed him, Mitch Rapp has dismantled, kill by untraceable kill, the network of monsters behind the Pan Am Lockerbie terrorist attack. The hunt leads to Paris, where a deadly trap is sprung as the bullet leaves Rapp’s silenced pistol—followed by the discovery of nine bodies, including Libya’s oil minister, in one of the city’s finest hotels. Washington wants no part of the international crisis, and Rapp is deemed a liability by Stan Hurley, one of his handlers. But as he slips outside their control to operate on his own, it will soon become clear that nothing is more dangerous than a wounded and cornered Mitch Rapp. I am a huge fan of this Mitch Rapp series and am eager to keep reading through the stories of Mitch Rapp. Vince Flynn does such a nice job of really grabbing your attention and you really feel like you are there through the whole story. It really grabs you and doesn't let you go throughout the whole story.

~ROYAL HOLIDAY BY: JASMINE GUILLORY | Vivian Forest has been out of the country a grand total of one time, so when she gets the chance to tag along on her daughter Maddie’s work trip to England to style a royal family member, she can’t refuse. She’s excited to spend the holidays taking in the magnificent British sights, but what she doesn’t expect is to become instantly attracted to a certain private secretary, his charming accent, and unyielding formality.Malcolm Hudson has worked for the Queen for years and has never given a personal, private tour—until now. He is intrigued by Vivian the moment he meets her and finds himself making excuses just to spend time with her. When flirtatious banter turns into a kiss under the mistletoe, things snowball into a full-on fling.Despite a ticking timer on their holiday romance, they are completely fine with ending their short, steamy affair come New Year’s Day. . .or are they? Y'all know I am such a huge fan of Jasmine Guillory's books and I read this at the right time because it got me in the Christmas spirit! Just like Guillory's other books, it is this perfect but strange love story that happens so quickly and is the perfect head-over-heels love story. It is a really nice and easy book to read!

~CRAZY RICH ASIANS BY: KEVIN KWAN | When New Yorker Rachel Chu agrees to spend the summer in Singapore with her boyfriend, Nicholas Young, she envisions a humble family home and quality time with the man she hopes to marry. But Nick has failed to give his girlfriend a few key details. One, that his childhood home looks like a palace; two, that he grew up riding in more private planes than cars; and three, that he just happens to be the country’s most eligible bachelor. On Nick’s arm, Rachel may as well have a target on her back the second she steps off the plane, and soon, her relaxed vacation turns into an obstacle course of old money, new money, nosy relatives, and scheming social climbers.

~CHINA RICH GIRLFRIEND BY: KEVIN KWAN | It’s the eve of Rachel Chu’s wedding, and she should be over the moon. She has a flawless Asscher-cut diamond, a wedding dress she loves, and a fiancé willing to thwart his meddling relatives and give up one of the biggest fortunes in Asia in order to marry her. Still, Rachel mourns the fact that her birthfather, a man she never knew, won’t be there to walk her down the aisle. Then a chance accident reveals his identity. Suddenly, Rachel is drawn into a dizzying world of Shanghai splendor, a world where people attend church in a penthouse, where exotic cars race down the boulevard, and where people aren’t just crazy rich … they’re China rich.

~RICH PEOPLE PROBLEMS BY: KEVIN KWAN | When Nicholas Young hears that his grandmother, Su Yi, is on her deathbed, he rushes to be by her bedside—but he's not alone. The entire Shang-Young clan has convened from all corners of the globe to stake claim on their matriarch’s massive fortune. With each family member vying to inherit Tyersall Park—a trophy estate on 64 prime acres in the heart of Singapore—Nicholas’s childhood home turns into a hotbed of speculation and sabotage. As her relatives fight over heirlooms, Astrid Leong is at the center of her own storm, desperately in love with her old sweetheart Charlie Wu, but tormented by her ex-husband—a man hell bent on destroying Astrid’s reputation and relationship. Meanwhile Kitty Pong, married to China’s second richest man, billionaire Jack Bing, still feels second best next to her new step-daughter, famous fashionista Colette Bing. A sweeping novel that takes us from the elegantly appointed mansions of Manila to the secluded private islands in the Sulu Sea, from a kidnapping at Hong Kong’s most elite private school to a surprise marriage proposal at an Indian palace, caught on camera by the telephoto lenses of paparazzi, Kevin Kwan's hilarious, gloriously wicked new novel reveals the long-buried secrets of Asia's most privileged families and their rich people problems.

~I had to dive back in and re-read all three of the Crazy Rich Asians books because they make me feel fancy and luxurious. They are all so detailed and Kevin Kwan does such a nice job of detailing all the characters and going back and forth between them so you get multiple stories that intertwined back together. You get so addicted with the first book that you will want to keep reading until the very end!

If y'all have some book recommendations for me, please send them in because I am always looking for new things to read.

As always thank y'all for stopping by and reading! As always thank y'all for stopping by and reading!

Love, Dani
