Seattle, Washington Travel VLOG

Hey y'all! It is finally Friday and I am rushing around because I am headed up to Boone, NC today to see my best friend Kaitlyn and see where she goes to school for the first time! I have truthfully lived in North Carolina my whole life and have never been up to this part of the mountains before. She has a weekend planned for us and what that entails I have no idea! Sadly this weekend is the last weekend and then I start back up at school and I am already dreading it. But we are so close to being done so that is a major plus!

Alright here is the final part of my most recent trip to Seattle, Washington! We had such a great time and as soon as we hit the ground in Seattle, I fell in love with the city and how amazing everything is. We were extremely lucky with the weather we had and had a completely sunny weekend and nice temperatures. If you missed the Seattle, Washington Food Diary and the Seattle, Washington Photo Diary, don't worry just click on their names and you can check them out. Everything about where we stayed, what we did, what we ate, and other recommendations is down below so you can read all about it!

BEST WAYS TO GET TO SEATTLE & TRAVEL AROUND SEATTLE

Our flight to Seattle was super easy and we had a direct flight there. Alaska Airlines has a direct flight from Raleigh- Durham to Seattle and it was probably one of the best flights I have ever been on. They are a fantastic airline with amazing pilots and flight attendants as well as great food, seats, and super easy to deal with. Would 100% recommend flying with Alaska Airlines whenever you get the chance to because it is so worth it! Now to get around Seattle, it is easiest if you just use Uber or Lyft, we used Lyft. A lot of people have their own cars and drive around and of course most people just walk around. Either way it is not that hard to travel around Seattle at all!

WHERE WE STAYED

We stayed at the W Seattle and it was amazing! The W Seattle has beautiful views from whatever room you are staying in. We were up on the 24th floor and it was incredible to be able to see the sunrise and sunset with all the buildings. Our room was two double beds and there was a ton of space with a nice bathroom and even a sitting area by the window. The hotel has a restaurant area where you can go for breakfast in the morning as well as an area that almost acts like a night club and on the weekends they have a DJ there. In the area that we were staying there are a ton of hotels and options of places to stay. My dads favorite hotel that he stays at every time he is out there is the Sheraton Grand Seattle.

WHERE WE ATE

Whenever we go on vacation, we always eat like kings that is always how it goes for us! Y'all can look in more detail at my Seattle, Washington Food Diary Blog Post for all the pictures and information but I am just going to list off the restaurants that we ate at. Everywhere we went we had such amazing food and it was definitely a wide array of foods. Terra Plata, Starbucks Reserve Roastery & Tasting Room, Sansei Seafood Restaurant and Sushi Bar, Biscuit Bitch, Salt & Straw, The Pike Seattle Brewing Co., The Lodge Sports Grille, and Yard House.

OTHER FOOD RECOMMENDATIONS

Some other restaurants that I would recommend that we didn't get a chance to eat at but wanted to are: The Pink Door, Daniel's Broiler, El Gaucho, Millers Guild, Anthony's, and Din Tai Fung.

WHAT WE DID

When you think of Seattle you don't really think of tourist attractions, except for one really. We of course had to do the Space Needle and for my dad and I (the ones afraid of heights) that was a little bit nerve racking. Once I got out there though it was okay because I wasn't looking down more I was looking out. The views from the Space Needle are out of this world and you can really get such a great view of Seattle! Right next door is the Museum of Pop Culture that has different attractions and exhibits all related to music and movies. They are even getting ready to open a Queen and Prince exhibit in the next coming months. When walking around Seattle there are a ton of wall art that are all creative and really show off the city perfectly! If you want to see something really cool you need to go see the Gum Wall right by the Pike Place Market and it really is so gross but cool to see at the same time!

There is a ton of shopping in Seattle which fit perfectly for me. The original Nordstrom was founded there so I had to go in there and look around and right next door is Nordstrom Rack. They have so many other places to shop like Nike, LuluLemon, Macy's, J.Crew, American Eagle, Sephora, Barneys NY, Tiffany & Co., Michael Kohrs, and so many others. A must spot that you have to go to is the Pike Place Market and it is so cool to see all the different vendors and foods and art and flowers there it is really so cool to see! Right by there is the amazing waterfront which is so beautiful on a sunny day and you can just walk up and down and see all the amazing piers and boats.

Two things we didn't do but people have suggested are the Seattle Great Wheel that is right on the waterfront that is overlooking the city and the water. Another place to check out is the Sky View Observatory at the Columbia Center especially at night to get an amazing view of Seattle and all of the lights.
